  • If your loved one belonged to a religious community, reach out to clergy and congregation members for help with funeral planning, spreading the word, and following religious customs.

Inform Close Family & Friends:

  • Notify close family and friends about the passing before any public announcements.
  • Despite the difficulty, share the news with them as they will provide support and help inform others.

It is often helpful to designate a close friend or family member as the main point of contact for all information that needs to be passed along to others, coordinate volunteer efforts (meals, logistics, errands, household work, etc), and fund donations.
